Go Cyfswatch

Thankyou to TV1 and others who have drawn attention to CYFSWATCH NEW ZEALAND.
Accountability of the department is really important as is the right for people to express their concerns. Given the nature and power of cyfs as an organisation the internet is an important tool in bringing the "customers" of cyfs together. There is immense experience that at times would help explain cyfs actions and be of reassurance and there is also a need for consumers to know how their voices can be heard. More on this in later posts.
If for any reason the original blogs are shut down I hope that others will continue on blogs like this or others started in response to the very real need.
Our personal experience is of an organisation that bullies and controls and does not live up to its own legal responsibilities. Childrens lives are being put at risk as much as helped.
We are looking to take further action against the department and will not post details that identify us at this point but can confirm that there are huge issues with a number of social workers and probably with the department itself.
